GLOSSARY

Click Spamming

Click spamming, also known as click flooding or organic poaching, refers to a form of mobile advertising fraud where fraudulent clicks are generated to claim credit for advertising conversions and deplete an advertiser's marketing budget. Fraudsters send fake clicks to Mobile Measurement Partners (MMPs) using techniques such as background clicks without visible ads or fraudulent device IDs. Click spamming not only steals an advertiser's budget but also distorts marketing data, leading to improper allocation of resources. Preventative measures are necessary to combat this serious issue in the mobile advertising industry.
